Beloit Resources for Patients

Harambee Village Doula Services - Rock County
A local doula group that helps improve the health of moms and babies in Wisconsin by giving support to families of different backgrounds. They also work to reduce racial health differences through doula services, education, and community programs. Some doulas work in Rock County.

Rock County Maternal, Child, and Family Health
The Maternal, Child, and Family Health unit in Rock County works with different groups to help improve the health of women, children, and families. Their goal is to reduce preventable deaths and make the community healthier by improving birth outcomes and overall well-being.

ECHO Janesville
A nonprofit organization supported by faith communities. It now helps low-income families in Rock County with housing, food, transportation, and other emergency needs.

Nutrition and Health Associates Rock County
Services include breastfeeding support; prenatal care coordination; health checks; WIC support; registered dietitian services; and community and fitness resources.

Pregnancy Helpline Janesville and Resource Center Janesville
Free services include pregnancy counseling; emergency needs (car seats, furniture, clothing, diapers, formula); parenting classes; pregnancy tests; post-abortion support; educational programs; and community referrals.

Children's Wisconsin Janesville Office
Includes 1) Rock County Family Resource Center (resource, programs, and no-cost activities); 2) warm line (608-314-9006) for non-emergency parenting advice; 3) Healthy Families Rock County (a free program that helps families with parenting skills, child development, and connecting to community resources, offering personalized support until the child turns 3 years old); and Cribs for Kids (provides a Cribette™ to qualifying parents/caregivers to provide a safe place for their baby to sleep).

A non-profit focused on raising awareness, providing education, and supporting treatment for perinatal mood disorders to ensure all individuals and families have access to mental health resources during and after pregnancy.

Wisconsin Doulas of Color Collective
Mission: Wisconsin Doulas Of Color Collective (WIDOCC) is a village of doulas of color reaffirming birthing people’s power. WIDOCC seeks to uphold accessible and culturally sensitive full­ spectrum support for all pregnancy experiences through radical love for individuals and families of color in Wisconsin.

An online resource center with Wisconsin resources and services in categories including: child health; mental health & substance use; financial & legal assistance; nutrition services; health care coverage & services; and pregnancy & parenting help.

A free, confidential service that helps users find local programs and services. Users can call 211 anytime to talk to a trained specialist, or search online by entering their ZIP code. Users can access 211 resources via phone, text, chat, or online search.

The mission of Resilient Wisconsin is to give everyone in our state the opportunity to live their best lives. Resilient Wisconsin provides education and resources to help users locate help when facing hard times and build strength and resilience.

Rides to medical appointments for patients enrolled in Wisconsin Medicaid and BadgerCare Plus.

First Breath- Wisconsin Women's Health Foundation
First Breath is Wisconsin’s free program to help people make positive changes to their tobacco, alcohol and substance use during pregnancy & beyond.

Wisconsin Foodshare
Food and nutrition assistance for Wisconsin residents who have low-income jobs; live on a small or fixed income; are retired; have lost their jobs; or are disabled and can't work.

WIC
Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children. Services include nutrition education; breastfeeding support; access to healthy foods; and referrals to health services and other resources. Serves pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum mothers and infants/children up to age five.

DONA Certified Doula Directory
A database of DONA-certified doulas by location. A doula is a trained person who helps people during pregnancy, childbirth, and after the baby is born. They provide emotional support, give information to help the patient make decisions, and help make sure the person giving birth feels comfortable and cared for.

Mom's Mental Health Matters
Information for moms and moms-to-be about depression, anxiety, postpartum depression, risk factors, treatments, and prevention.

ACOG/AIM Urgent Maternal Warning Signs
An interactive guide about urgent warning signs and symptoms during and after pregnancy. If you have any of these symptoms during or after pregnancy, contact your health care provider and get help right away. If you can’t reach your provider, go to the emergency room. Always remember to say that you’re pregnant or have been pregnant within the last year when getting help.

My Birth Matters
Educational materials to help people giving birth understand their options. Includes pictures, videos, and easy-to-read text to explain different choices.

Postpartum Support International- Online Support Meetings (BIPOC-focused)
Postpartum Support International offers over 50 free and vitual support groups for pregnant people, parents, and families. These 50+ support groups provide spaces specific to a wide variety of identities and lived experiences during and after pregnancy.


MotherToBaby
A free service that provides trusted information about the safety of medications, vaccines, and other exposures during pregnancy and breastfeeding. They help people make informed decisions by answering questions about risks and benefits and also conduct research on medication safety. Their service is available in English and Spanish to pregnant people, their families, and health professionals.

Therapy for Black Girls
This directory connects Black women with mental health professionals who are culturally competent and attuned to the unique challenges Black women face.

Count the Kicks
Free, evidence-based tools and app to help expectant parents to keep track of their baby's wellbeing and prevent stillbirth.

The Periscope Project
A free service for healthcare providers in Wisconsin who care for pregnant and postpartum women. It helps providers treat mental health issues in these patients by offering psychiatric consultations, sharing community resources, and providing educational support.

Periscope Project Toolkit

Up-to-date information about new research in women’s mental health and how it affects everyday medical care. Even though more studies are being done, the results can sometimes be unclear, which can make it hard for patients to know what to do. By giving helpful resources to both patients and doctors, they can work together to make good decisions.

ACOG Perinatal Mental Health Toolkit
A guide that covers important information about Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMAD). It includes an overview of mental health conditions during and after pregnancy, how to screen patients, ways to assess and treat these conditions, helpful resources for learning more, and tips on how to include mental health care in everyday practice.

HEAR HER Campaign
Educational materials about urgent maternal warning signs that can occur up to one a year after delivery.

ACOG/HRSA AIM Perinatal Mental Health Conditions Safety Bundle
Patient safety bundle to improve clinical practice in the care of patients with perinatal mental health conditions. The bundle gives useful steps that can be adjusted to different types of facilities and resources to improve care and results for patients with mental health conditions during and after pregnancy.

Black Mamas Matter Alliance
The Black Mamas Matter Alliance (BMMA) is led by Black women and focuses on supporting Black mothers and birthing people. They work to improve Black maternal health, rights, and justice by changing policies, advancing research, and promoting better care. Their vision is a world where Black mothers have the respect, rights, and resources they need to thrive before, during, and after pregnancy.

Policy Center for Maternal Mental Health
A hub for information, reports, training opportunities, and resources centered around maternal mental health. The Policy Center for Maternal Mental Health aims to close gaps in maternal mental health care.

Issue Brief: Black Maternal Mental Health
This issue brief explains how chronic stress from racism, discrimination, and unequal treatment in healthcare increase the risk of mental health disorders for Black women during and after pregnancy, and suggests policy changes like increasing Black healthcare providers and supporting community-based care to improve outcomes.
